Video Capture and Transfer
Home movies are a great thing!
Since the first home film movie camera came out in the early part of the 20th Century, people have been documenting the important (and not so important) events in their family life, playing them back later and either laughing, crying or cringing.
The development of the videotape based camcorder in the early 80s made the whole process considerably quicker. No more trips to the chemist and waiting days if not weeks for your film to come back. Just record, hook up your device to the TV or put the tape in your VCR and you were good to go.
Since the mid 2000s and the change to file based recording, it’s become even easier. Record and then just put the memory card straight into your computer or large screen TV. Instant.
The issue though is…what do you do with all your old video tapes with all those memories that are now collecting dust in a drawer somewhere?
Who still has a VCR in the 2020s?
Does anyone remember what happened to their old camcorder?
Does it all still actually work?
Well, that’s the whole point of this service.
You give me your video tapes, I'll capture the footage and return it as digital files that you can play on just about any modern device.
Not only does that make the process an awful lot more convenient even if you do still have the hardware to play them back, there’s no need to worry about the tapes degrading over time until one day they are unplayable. Once your footage is in a digital file you can watch it as many times as you like and share copies with your family and friends.
